Time for all UCalgary students and staff in Europe to leave their exchange placements due to COVID-19 concerns

Assistance available for students, faculty and staff

All UCalgary students and non-academic staff in Europe are required to leave their exchange placements. We strongly encourage academic staff to leave their exchange placements as well. Canadians should return to Canada. International students should follow the guidance of their home countries.

If you require immediate financial assistance in order to return home or are in an area under quarantine, please contact COVID19@ucalgary.ca.

Study abroad

Additionally, outbound student programs have been suspended until August 31, 2020. If you have questions about what this may mean for you, please contact study.abroad@ucalgary.ca.

International travel

All outbound international travel associated with the university is suspended until further notice for students and non-academic staff. Academic staff are also strongly recommended to avoid international travel.

These decisions were made following careful consideration of the risks to the campus community from travel to countries and areas experiencing community transmission of COVID-19.
