UCalgary senate seeks new ambassadors with a passion for post-secondary
Know someone with a passion for post-secondary education? They might be the perfect fit for the University of Calgary Senate.
Every year, UCalgary seeks new senators to join our community of ambassadors who help share the university’s story of teaching and learning, research and innovation. This year, there are several senate positions available for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2019.
Senators serve a key role by acting as a liaison between the university and the Calgary community. In addition to representing UCalgary within their networks and fostering positive relationships in the community, senators also fulfil a range of important responsibilities, including recruiting and selecting the chancellor, engaging in student mentorship and presenting the Lecture of a Lifetime Series.
The University of Calgary Senate is chaired by the university’s chancellor and is comprised of 62 members, including 30 members from the community elected by the senate.
Learn more about the senate and the application process. Applications will be accepted until Jan. 11, 2019.
